IKMF International Krav Maga Federation
- IKMF - International Krav Maga Federation*, is a worldwide organization for Krav Maga training, its main objective is to spread the Krav Maga doctrine around the world under the Moto "SO THAT ONE MAY WALK IN PEACE" a mission it has inherited from Grand Master Imi Lichtenfeld, the creator of Krav Maga.
The IKMF trains and educates all types of trainees, with or without KM (or other martial art) background, such as civilian students and instructors, military personnel and instructors, law-enforcement officers, and instructors as well as security and close protection officers and their instructors. All such individuals and groups are accepted into the ranks of the IKMF.
The IKMF is led by Chairman and Head Instructor Master Avi Moyal, and is thought worldwide by its GIT'S, Global instructors team, as well as local instructors trained and Qualified by the IKMF.

When the teaching of Krav Maga (KM) started to spread beyond the borders of Israel, arose a need to found an international organization. This happened mostly because the initial KM association existing at the time was divided and not functioning efficiently, due to dissension amongst the higher graded instructors. Imi resulted in forming a new international KM federation with the support of his most loyal students and respected instructors, among which IKMF's chairman nowadays, Avi Moyal.
Once the IKMF was finally formed, All Expert and Master Diplomas, grades and levels issued by it, were authorized by Grand Master Imi Lichtenfeld, As well as the IKMF curriculum. Imi approved this new curriculum at the time of formation of the IKMF as well as subsequent changes made in 1997.
Since 1996 The IKMF expanded and is now the largest and most appreciated KM institution worldwide. The IKMF has branched out and is successfully active locally, in Israel as well as in Australia, North America, South & East Asia, the Far East, Most EU countries, and ex-communist countries (such as Poland, Russia and Hungary). The general Structure of the organization in each country is relatively similar: A director, responsible for the growth of both the KM system and the local IKMF organization in said country, and, of course, local instructors at different grades and levels assisting him.
IKMF is the world's largest and most active Krav Maga organization founded 20 years ago with branches in over 80 countries. IKMF is working with the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) and special units around the world, in the military sector, the law enforcement sector, executive protection and has extensive experience in Civilian Krav Maga such as the "Stay away" program for women, Kids Krav Maga as well as adults.
Modern Krav Maga[עריכה]
Krav Maga is a self-defense system, based on natural reflex and the physical human structure. Modern Krav Maga is used by many security organizations in the world, whether private or government, whether military or law enforcement, however the biggest growth in the last decade is shown in the civilian sector, with Krav Maga clubs in over 80 countries, teaching adults, kids and women in IKMF's unique "Stay Away" program developed by Expert 3 level Shlomi Moyal & Master Avi Moyal. in 2017 IKMF presented the newest & ground breaking sector in Krav Maga, the "Adaptive Krav Maga" for disabled and incapacitated by illness or injury, developed by Stehpan Chatton under the guidance of Master Avi Moyal. IKMF Grading system is divided into 3 groups: Practitioner- levels 1 to 5, Graduates- levels 1 to 5, and Experts- levels 1 to 5. ranks are shown on attire in the form of patches, using yellow color for practitioner with Black stripes indicating the level, Blue Color for Graduates with Black stripes indicating the level and Gold color for experts with red stripes indicating the level.
